My wife and I are the current owners of the home once owned by George and Marguerite Norsworthy, who occupied the property from 1950-1986. Your web site has helped us trace the history of ownership for our dear old house, and has given us a sense of connection with the previous owners. Thank you.

Hello Anne, I'm gonna write about Flt. Lt. Hugh H. Norsworthy in my new book on WW2. He attacked and sunk a ferry near my birthplace on September 3, 1943. I hope you allow me to use the photo of Hugh, mentioning you be the source?

regards
Kees

Hello Anne,
Hopefully I can fill you in on a couple of blanks for Bernard George Clynick.
He was killed in action serving aboard HMS Ardent in June 1940. He was a Commisioned engineer on board when the ship was sunk in the Arctic ocean off the coast of Norway. He was the husband of Louise Rose Clynick of Durrington, Sussex.
Hope this helps.

Came across your website by accident when researching gilbards almshouse in newton abott Devon where my gg granddad Joshua Roberts, aged 94 was residing prior to his death in 1901.

I see from your home page that you invite further info /suggestions so, if acceptable will provide details of my branch of the Roberts family tree shortly.

Hi Ann
Stumbled upon your webpage while searching for photos of my gg grandfathers house he grew up in in Puslinch. Which you called Aberfoyle Farm now the Pro Shop of Springfield Golf and country club.
His father, William Graham settled there.

The lot was north of Aberfoyle. William built a stone cottage and stable, and a frame bank barn and he and his family moved in. ** The Annals of Puslinch tell us that a sawmill operated on that property in the 1850's.*** The house is still standing, part of the golf course now, Number 2054 Gordon Street.

So it was wonderful to see some older photos of the house even if it was after William sold his property, thanks.

This was a great site! My great grandmother told her daughters that their brother Henry died at age 17 In the asylum and through this site we found out that he actually died at age 36. My great grandmother had Henry committed to an asylum at age 16, my great grandmothers cousin ran the asylum were she committed Both her son and deathly ill husband. She was an evil woman! She committed Henry because she disliked him due to the fact that he challenged her when she was physically abusing my grandmother Lucille.

Hi, Anne! I think we may have a common ancestor. On the 1851 Scotland Census, in New Rattray, Rattray, Pertshire, a "Rhoderic" Rattray, aged 8, is living with his uncle "Rhoderic" McDonald, aged 30.

My guess is that Roderick Rattray's mother, Ann McDonald, and Roderick McDonald are siblings. The census says that Roderick Rattray was born in Dundee, Forfashire.

The census says Roderick McDonald was born in Dingwall, Rossshire. Does this fit with what you know about Ann McDonald?

I am tracing my family back and believe John Sanders Lock's son John Lock may be my grandfather John Phillip Lock who married Edith Elizabeth Rew in 1903. My Father was Ernest John Lock(e)Can you confirm this.

Thanks
Alan
