  • Notes
    • According to his marriage record, William was the son of William LINDEN and Elizabeth; according to his son Clyde's birth certificate, William was born in Maidstone, Kent, nevertheless, to date no trace of his existence in England has been found. No possible matches for a William or William Edward LINDEN in the birth indexes have been found, nor are there any families in the 1871 or 1881 census that might fit. Other variations of the name, such as LINTON, LINDON etc. have been considered. At the death of his son Alfred in 1952, William Edward LINDEN was reported to have been born in Nova Scotia, although with the passing of time, it could have easily have been forgotten that he originated in England. At his own death, no parent's names were given. No immigration record has yet been found. (Anne Brooks) [3]
